Frequently Asked Questions
How is LE studio Design different from other design firms?
We offer a complimentary consultation (in-person or via phone) so you'll know if LE studio is right for you before you pay.
With a discerning list of vetted resources from artisans and mill worker to general contractors, we can put together the right team and find unique pieces that will help bring your decor together in a seamless and unique way. Your dedicated project manager will be available for all of your questions and feedback from initial consultation to final installation and we will openly communicate every step of the way. Our goal is to make the process an enjoyable and memorable experience, and take away the headache of the planning away from you.
What can I expect the process to look like?
Prior to our visit, we will send you a questionnaire to help drive our first conversation. Don't worry, this isn't homework and there is no right or wrong answer!
-
During our first in-person visit, we will gather as much information as possible about your needs and desires for the space, we will walk the space in person, listen to your ideas and vision, and form an early plan with preliminary ideas and a direction for your project. We ask that all decision makers be present during the consultation so everyone's input is heard and we gather your vision for the space, including your budget.
-
Determining your budget is paramount to the success of our collaboration, so we will ask what your budget range is. If you need guidance with this, we are happy to help establishing one. We like to set the program for success.
-
We will answer any questions you may have regarding our design process. We will email you a tailored Proposal within 3-5 business days following the consultation (can be more depending on the scope but we will let you know that upfront as always), outlining the exact scope of work, the estimated timeline for your project, as well as an estimated budget.
-
We require an initial retainer fee that is proportionate to the scope of the work, but never above $1,000. Once the retainer fee has been paid, that signals the start of the project.
-
We return for measurements, we work on a refined mood-board and design program, begin to assemble trades to acquire firm and detailed quotes, and work on the comprehensive design plan and the budget breakdown for final approval.
-
For final furnishing, we require 100% of the agreed upon purchasing budget upfront and signing of the Furnishings Proposal to move forward with the purchasing and project management phase.
Will I have to buy all new furniture?
We can definitely do a full refresh, or start from the ground-up, but most of the time, we will encourage you to incorporate some of the treasured pieces that are already part of your story. That is what makes our design unique and curated. We understand and value the fact that you may want to repurpose and reuse your own furniture as much as the design will allow and tailor some of it around the existing pieces. We are happy to embrace that goal but will also be very upfront and transparent on the limitation that this will bring, what works and what doesn't.
We're selling our house. Why should I invest in remodeling right before we go?
Decorating and implement some light renovation can simply help show you home in the best possible light with upgrade that have proven high return on investment. We have experience and can guide you with design consultations geared towards increasing its value, sell faster and for top dollars, respecting your budget, and a quick turn-around timeline. We have had great success with this (see our "condo" project). We believe purchasing and selling a home should be painless and offer curated services to streamline the process. And once you're ready to purchase your next home, we're happy to be providing our input and recommendations for your next project.
